ACRO certificate

An ACRO Police Certificate is an official document issued by the ACRO Criminal Records Office. It shows whether a person has any convictions, warnings, reprimands or cautions recorded against them on UK police systems. It is commonly requested when someone is moving abroad for work, immigration, residency, visa, or other official purposes where a foreign authority wants evidence of the applicant’s criminal record status in the UK.

We are often asked to arrange an apostille for the original ACRO certificate. This is because many overseas authorities require the original document to be legalised before they will accept it. At LACUK, we can help guide you through the apostille process, check that your document is suitable for legalisation, and arrange the apostille quickly and efficiently so your certificate is ready for use overseas. Birth certificate, marriage certificate, death certificate

Birth certificates are one of the most commonly requested documents for international use, particularly for visa applications, citizenship or nationality claims, overseas employment, and family-related legal processes such as registering a birth abroad.

We frequently arrange apostilles for original UK birth certificates. Most foreign authorities require the original certificate (or a certified copy issued by the register office) to be legalised before it can be accepted.

Marriage certificates are often required for immigration applications, spouse visas, registering a marriage abroad, changing legal name, or dealing with financial and legal matters in another country.

We are regularly asked to apostille original marriage certificates for international use.

Death certificates are commonly required when dealing with estates, inheritance, probate, or the transfer of assets located abroad. It may also be needed to notify foreign authorities, close overseas accounts, or manage property held in another country.

We frequently handle apostilles for original death certificates, as overseas institutions typically require legalisation before recognising the document.

For all of the above, LACUK can guide you through the process, ensure your certificate is in the correct format, and obtain the apostille promptly so it can be used for international legal and administrative purposes. Click here to order an apostille for your birth, marriage or death certificate.

Certificate of non impediment

A Certificate of No Impediment (CNI) is an official document issued by a UK register office confirming that there is no legal reason why a person cannot marry or enter into a civil partnership. It is typically required when a UK national intends to get married abroad, as foreign authorities often need formal confirmation that the individual is free to marry under UK law.

We are frequently asked to apostille original Certificates of No Impediment for use overseas. In most cases, the foreign authority will only accept the document once it has been legalised with an apostille. At LACUK, we can check that your CNI has been correctly issued, advise on any country-specific requirements, and arrange the apostille quickly and efficiently so your marriage plans abroad proceed without unnecessary delays.

Company documents

Company documents are often required when a UK-registered business is operating internationally, opening overseas bank accounts, setting up subsidiaries, or entering into contracts with foreign entities. The most commonly requested documents include the Certificate of Incorporation, a list of directors, and confirmation that the company is in good standing and has been validly incorporated under UK law.

We are frequently asked to apostille company documents for use abroad. In many cases, overseas authorities require not only the original or official Companies House documents, but also a solicitor or notary certification confirming that the company is properly incorporated and in good standing. At LACUK, we can coordinate this process for you—arranging certification, and securing the apostille—ensuring your documents are accepted without issue in the relevant jurisdiction. Court orders

Court orders can cover a wide range of matters, including divorce and family proceedings, child arrangements, financial judgments, injunctions, and other civil or commercial rulings. When a court order needs to be relied upon outside the UK—for example in overseas legal proceedings, enforcement actions, or administrative processes—it will often need to be formally legalised.

We are regularly asked to apostille UK court orders for international use. In most cases, the document must be either an original sealed order from the court or a properly certified copy before it can be legalised. Some jurisdictions may also require additional certification by a solicitor or notary prior to apostille. At LACUK, we can advise on the correct format, arrange any necessary certification, and handle the apostille process efficiently so your court documents are recognised abroad. DBS certificate

A DBS certificate (Disclosure and Barring Service certificate) is an official document issued by the UK government that details an individual’s criminal record status. Depending on the level of check (Basic, Standard, or Enhanced), it may show unspent convictions, spent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and whether an individual is barred from working with vulnerable groups. These certificates are commonly required for employment, volunteering, or regulatory purposes, particularly in sectors such as education, healthcare, and childcare.

For international use, DBS certificates are often required for overseas employment, visa applications, or licensing processes where a foreign authority needs assurance regarding an individual’s background. We are frequently asked to apostille original DBS certificates so they can be recognised abroad. In some cases, additional certification by a solicitor or notary may be required before the apostille can be issued. At LACUK, we can advise on the correct process, check your document, and arrange the apostille efficiently to ensure it is accepted overseas. Degree certificates / TEFL certificate

A degree certificate confirms that a qualification has been awarded, while an academic transcript provides a detailed record of the course studied, including modules, grades, and dates of attendance. TEFL certificates are similar. These documents are commonly required for overseas employment, further study, professional registration, immigration applications, teaching English as a foreign language abroad (TEFL) and qualification recognition in another country.

We are often asked to apostille degree certificates and/or academic transcripts for international use. In many cases, overseas authorities require either the original document or a properly certified copy before it can be legalised. Where original paper certificates are not available, it is often possible to work from electronic originals accessed via official university or qualification portals. In these cases, we can arrange for a solicitor or notary to certify a true copy of the electronic document, which can then be apostilled.

At LACUK, we can advise on the most appropriate route based on your documents, arrange certification where required, and handle the apostille process efficiently to ensure your academic documents are accepted overseas. Click here to order an apostille for your degree certificate.

Financial documents

Financial documents, such as bank statements, are often required for use overseas as evidence of an individual’s or company’s financial position. They are commonly requested for visa and immigration applications, property purchases abroad, overseas business activities, or compliance with foreign regulatory requirements. Bank statements typically show account activity, balances, and account holder details over a specified period.

We are frequently asked to apostille bank statements and other financial documents for international use. As these are not usually issued as formal “public documents,” they will generally need to be certified by a solicitor before an apostille can be applied. This certification confirms that the document is a true and accurate copy of the original (or, in some cases, that it has been properly issued by the bank).

At LACUK, we can advise on the correct format required by the destination country, arrange the necessary certification, and handle the apostille process efficiently to ensure your financial documents are accepted abroad.
