Can my document be apostilled in the UK?

Yes. Most UK-issued documents can be apostilled by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), provided they are correctly signed, stamped, or certified.

We assess every document before submission—over 95% of standard documents are eligible once properly prepared.

Do I need to send the original document for an apostille?

In most cases, yes. The FCDO usually requires original documents. However, may documents can be apostilled as solicitor-certified copies, depending on the document type.

We will confirm the correct format before you send anything.

How long does it take to get an apostille in the UK?

Standard apostille processing typically takes 5 working days. There is also an express service which takes 2 working days or less.

How much does an apostille cost in the UK (including postage)?

Our apostille service pricing is fully transparent. Our standard service apostille is £74 with return postage by Royal Mail Special Delivery being extra. If you want our express apostille service, it is £15 extra. Solicitor certification or notary certification and return by courier will cost extra.

Do I need a solicitor or notary before getting an apostille?

Sometimes. Around 60% of documents require Solicitor certification or Notary public notarisation.

We can arrange this for you as part of our service, ensuring the document meets FCDO requirements.

Can you apostille UK degrees, birth certificates, or marriage certificates?

Yes. These are among the most commonly apostilled documents in the UK, including:

Degree certificates and transcripts

Birth, marriage, and death certificates

ACRO police certificates

These documents are usually accepted without issue when correctly prepared.

Will my apostilled document be accepted overseas?

Yes—if the destination country is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention.

Apostilles issued in the UK are recognised in 120+ countries, including most of Europe, the USA, and Australia.

What is the difference between an apostille and legalisation?

An apostille is a single certification issued by the UK FCDO for use in Hague Convention countries.

Legalisation is a longer process required for non-Hague countries, involving:

Apostille, followed by Embassy or consulate legalisation.

We handle both processes.

How should I send my documents to you securely?

We recommend using:

Royal Mail Special Delivery (most popular) or a tracked courier service. Or simply drop them off at our offices in Victoria, London.

Do you check documents before submitting them to the FCDO?

Yes. Every document is professionally checked before submission to ensure it meets apostille requirements.

This significantly reduces the risk of rejection or delays.
